Wedding Surprise: Bride Asks For Groom’s Former Partner To Attend Vow Exchanging

When the woman told Stephanie she was staying for the reception, Stephanie was not happy and became distressed. Of course, the ex-wife was nothing but bewildered.

Turning to Reddit, the woman who goes by u/closureseekingex, told her story. She said: “I told her that I was invited and since I took the two-hour drive I would be staying for the entire duration. She didn’t like this response.”

Naturally, the ex-wife thought that would be the end of the conversation, but during a private conversation later on, Stephanie accused her of “trying to ruin her special day.”

To give Redditors an idea of what the dress looked like, she shared a photo of a full-length red dress with a lacey material. It very much resembled a mermaid-style bridal gown.

Another Redditor wrote: “Regardless of if she wants him back or not she was going to stand out at the wedding and would attract attention, now her ex is left arguing with his new bride who’s had one of the most important days of her life ruined.”

The ex-wife didn’t see anything wrong with her dress choice. She responded to one of the Redditors: “My dress was fine in my opinion. I didn’t wear white. It was a red lacey dress, but she’s acting like I wore my wedding dress and engagement ring to the wedding.”

With a flood of comments posted in the thread, the woman responded to many of them and even had to defend her decisions multiple times.  To one person, she said: “She’s not the only host. One of them invited me and wanted me to stay. It’s not just her wedding. Many of my friends were there so I wanted to just enjoy the moment rather than taking a 2 hour drive back home.”
