This Couple Found a Child-Sized Brick on Their Property; What’s Inside Will Surprise You
When we think of 2-in-1 deals, certain items come to mind. However, no matter how much we try to stretch our imaginations, there are some things we can’t think of getting this type of deal on.
Well, a couple in New Jersey got this deal when they bought their house.
A Furnished Tiny House
Matt and Anna Jones bought a big house in Brick, New Jersey, in 2000. Unbeknownst to them, they had a surprise deal; they got an extra home on the property they bought. The extra house was a smaller ranch-style brick cottage. The surprising thing was the house was only about 3½ feet tall.
The little house was as well furnished as any other typical house, except the furnishings were smaller. It had tables and chairs, kitchen cabinets, a shower, and a fireplace. The one-bedroom cottage even had a piano.
Speculations
After discovering the mini cottage, Anna and Matt’s neighbors started sharing their thoughts and beliefs about the house. Some said the little house belonged to little people in 1960 who worked in a circus not far from the home. Others believed mystical creatures like dwarves were still occupying it.
We don’t know if the couple believed that, but later on, Anna found out the truth about the mysterious tiny house.
For the Love of Their Grandchildren
In the 1960s, the original house owners built the small cottage as a playhouse for their grandchildren. The interior may look eerie to some people, but any kid would love to have their own playhouse.
As the years went by, Anna and her family took pleasure in decorating the house for holidays, and they welcomed tourists. The little cottage became a landmark in New Jersey and is still well-known today.
Sad Occurrences
Unfortunately, the interior of the little house was destroyed when Hurricane Sandy hit. The walls and floors were ripped up, and litter and dead leaves were scattered across the room.
Over the years, the tiny house has also been vandalized several times. Burglars were constantly breaking into the house and stealing property, which was challenging for the family. Although the couple is not planning to leave their primary home, they decided to sell the small cottage to someone that could manage it better.
