On opening weekend, Barbie made $93 million nationally and $122 million internationally, while Oppenheimer reported $45 domestically and $174 million total. And over the past two weeks, Oppenheimer has made almost $500 million; Barbie, an incredible $775 million.

In a post-pandemic world, people are excited about the movie theater experience again, and many argue that Barbenheimer has caused a ‘reawakening’ that will return the box office to its former glory.
